WhatsApp has lunched one of the most requested feature, a web based chat client of the app. Users can now use Google Chrome to log in to the application and chat from their computer instead of cellphone.
Currently WhatsApp for browsers is only compatible with Google Chrome and is expected to support all major browsers soon.
To access WhatsApp from the browser, a user needs to visit https://web.whatsapp.com/ scan the bar code on cellphone and then the browser client takes over there.
This is what the announcement says –
Today, for the first time, millions of you will have the ability to use WhatsApp on your web browser. Our web client is simply an extension of your phone: the web browser mirrors conversations and messages from your mobile device — this means all of your messages still live on your phone.
